So it is official - I am composing a full chapbook of sonnets all written in the voice of a well-spoken house centipede. I'm going to submit what I get to publishers and to contests.
Now, this job is not something easy, especially if I'm working by myself - what with the editing and arranging of the sequence, and moral support I invariably need - so I enlisted a friend, teacher and mentor (not to mention acclaimed poet) Mark Bibbins to help me thoroughly in this process.
Because Mark has been there, done that, and done that very well. He is the author of two poetry collections, Sky Lounge and, more recently, The Dance of No Hard feelings. Some of his claims to fame include winning the prestigious Lambda Literary Award, as well as publishing poems and essays in The Paris Review, Poetry and The Best American Poetry collection. In short, Mark's the man. Now it's time to do the job.
And of course, I'll publish the sonnets that come out this process on Hooray4Chainsaws first. You guys have exclusive reading rights - always.
